The People I Watch.

World 6,905,635,895
05:57 UTC (EST+5) Mar 14, 2011

[appropriate final picture, am i right?]

That’s how many people are on this earth right now. (more or less every second)

If there are so many, why do you feel bad when one leaves your current life? Is it that they made that much of an impact? Did they change your life for the better? Or did they make it bad enough to never forget?

1

That is me. Right there. One person. I can only do so much. I can only feel so much. I can only see so much. So what do I do to make up for this lack of external perception of my ‘world’? Why, I use others.

133

That’s how many people currently follow me. That’s 133 people (give or take for the RSS feeders and the trolls) who see with their own eyes, feel with there own heart, and take in experiences to their own essences.

This is why I watch people. I don’t do it to observe as some outsider, but I do it to learn from them. Why can’t normal people be our teachers. Why do teachers of life have to have degrees? Or children? Or age? Or wisdom? Or intellect.

When we were little, who made you learn that fire burned? People? Books? No. The fire did.

Now that you’re older, who will teach you how to live? People? Books? No. Life will.

We need to expand our meaning of life, to not just things that breathe, and not just things we’ve created. But to things unseen by our own eyes, unfelt by our own hearts, unthought of by our own minds, and not understood by our own experiences.

If we are truly vehicles of our consciousness, then take someone else for a spin. Ride with them. For a while. But don’t forget to get off on your stop, lest you miss your destination.

My point is this, I am leaving Tumblr. For good, I hope. This is just fanfare. But I thank everyone I took a ride with. Which was meant for fun, but ended up being for the salvation of my very being. To find out how to live. You all helped me learn how to live. So don’t forget me. But if you do, know that your mind may forget, but your life will always reflect the times I rode with you. :)

Goodbye,

Manuel (aka MonolithicBrown)

P.S.: Here’s the good news I promised. This blog will stay up. HEATHER will be running it from now on. She’s tons busier than I, so don’t give her grief for living, and not posting. And who knows, maybe one day, I’ll be taking pictures on some random street somewhere, and it’ll be YOU I’m watching, and learning from. :)
